Dentistry

Dentistry forms a large and important part of my work and this is reflected in the array of modern equine dental equipment I carry.

Previously I  have acted as an examiner for the World Wide Association of Equine Dentists (UK), and attended the BEVA basic and advanced equine dental courses.

I aim to perform most dentals without the aid of sedation.  I do however believe all horses should be sedated prior to performing any painful procedure including the removal of wolf teeth.

To assist with this I often use a state of the art motorised flexi disc with is gentle safe and effective.  As well as saving effort this clever device allows even slightly loose teeth on very old horses to have sharp edges and overgrowths removed without causing the teeth to rock back and forwards as with all manual rasping.
